tip to tip

I was delighted to find these photographs still saved on my camera after our computers were stolen recently. My poor, neglected back garden would not be described as inspiring and yet I still believe you can find inspiration anywhere. This rose grew across the cement up towards the house its weight bending it until its tip touched the tip of its own shadow. A circle is made...half positive half negative...all perfect.

I feel a design coming on!

Currently I've sold out of my square wall brooches and wall birds but here are some new shapes I'm really enjoying.

Infinite possibilities but each is individual.

Any of these patterns could become a new fabric design for Umbrella Prints.

Things feel very rushed sometimes but not when I draw.
Here is some new work I've been doing in the evenings.

Umbrella Prints first brought out Bird in Paradise in 2008.  With an impossibly intricate repeat, an allover lace-like pattern, imaginary birds in an illustrated leafy wilderness we could not find anything like it on the market.  

Nearly two years later we have started getting emails, phone calls, a publisher and magazine photo shoot requests for Bird in Paradise.  We are so glad we kept faith in this design.

A new short run has just arrived in colours Bambi, Flamingo and Olive hand screen printed onto our custom made natural organic hemp/cotton. It is available as meterage and in 50cm x 60cm pieces in both our online shops and at Nest Studio now.

little wood

I've been playing with this idea for a while now. Carly and I put a set in Nest Studio and they got snapped right up so I'm going to have to make some more which is great because I love drawing on wood. If you would like a similar set let me know amyprior@hotmail.com
