I while ago I lived in Kyoto, happened upon an exhibition in a train station and fell in love with
Kiyoshi Hasegawa; well his beautiful mezzotints, engravings and etchings that is. His dark, perfectly arranged, delicate shadowy still-lives were indeed etched into my mind. I still look at the postcards I bought from that show and I still wish I could pickup the marble, the shell, the leaf and the tiny flowers.
