I just finished reading Life on Air an autobiography by David Attenborough (mentioned in a recent post). It was one of those books that I didn't want to finish. I was sad at its ending and grateful all at the same time. It was a happy thought then that many of the filming trips he has lived are available to watch on the internet as finished productions.
Australian animals, minerals and plants are mentioned including a number of creatures unique to South Australia that I should know more about. Perhaps you have seen the footage of SA's lyrebird below? This is some of the most ironic and moving 3 minutes of tv I have ever seen.

That made me tear up, so I had to share a humourous response to cheer everyone up;

WOW! That was unbelievable! I love birdie calls...I've never heard of this one!! Thanks for sharing! (I played it loud to see if it would stir my sleeping dogs....they perked their ears up and started wiggling their noses.)
That is unbelievable and as you say - sadly ironic.
Woah!
Sorry to make anyone cry....x!
